Concept studies (2013 - present)

This collection of concept images representing the development of a house type intended to be suited to the narrow & deep sites typical of many coastal sites in Grand Cayman.

The primary driver for the concept was an axis from the entrance which divides the house into two distinct wings. Between the wings is a functioning outdoor lap pool flanked on one site by a living wall which it was intended would be host to endemic and native plants of the islands. The design was intended to be open plan with a strong indoor/outdoor connection across the ground floor.

Fully designed and 3D modelled in house we are able to quickly explore, develop, visualize and present new ideas for discussion with the client. The different façade and roof treatments in these seven images intend to illustrate the flexibility this design possesses, enabling it to be minimal contemporary, all the way to a more 'island contemporary' style.
